Meet Gabriella

(they/them)

I see much of the pain we hold as humans as grief: grief for what we've lost and grief for what should have been or should be. As much as we may want sometimes, we cannot hide from our grief. It requires attention and care. It also requires space to be as loud, messy, hurt, and complicated as it is. As a therapist, I am dedicated to making space for your grief to be heard and held with the goal of helping integrate your losses into your life and your future. My personal experiences of grief and loss inform my passion for this work and my commitment to supporting clients in healing through and in relationship with others.

Therapy is a sacred place, where we can say out loud and work through the things that scare us and are keeping us stuck. As someone deeply committed to the values of justice and equity, I believe that who we are and who we have come to be is woven from and into a greater canvas of our cultures, families, and societies. Bringing our identities, social scripts, and relationships into view allows us to better understand who we are, what we need and want, and where we want to be going.

I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) at the University of Denver with a specialty focus in grief and loss. In this program, I have had the honor of working in many different settings to support people on their journeys of self-acceptance, growth, and change. Much of my clinical work has focused on supporting people through experiences of grief and loss, trauma, and navigating LGBTQ+ identities, relationships, and issues. I have worked with individuals, families, groups, and couples, helping people on their unique paths towards healing.

I am trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a form of trauma therapy that works to help alleviate suffering by processing through traumatic experiences and deeply held beliefs that result from these experiences. I have been privileged to see the ways that this transformative therapy has helped people reengage with life on their own terms and heal from profound pain.

My therapeutic style is warm, genuine, and deep, where you can show up exactly as you are and be witnessed in all the incredible complexity you hold. When people feel safe to explore their inner and outer worlds with curiosity and nuance within the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship, we release shame and expectations and travel home to ourselves. It is through this process that we can be known, understood, and valued in all our complexity. Together, we will work to identify your patterns, understand yourself better, and help make changes on your own terms to live a life of meaning and connection.
