Meet Annalise

(she/her)

From a very young age, I have endured and combatted concerns with my personal mental health, along with witnessing many of my family members address their own mental health issues. As someone who prides themselves on embodying the values of curiosity, open-mindedness, and connection, pursuing a profession in the field of psychology has felt second nature to me. I know from first-hand experience how isolating and challenging it can be to experience mental health issues, and it is my firm belief that through human connection, active listening, and empathy, we can heal and grow by working to make sense of our deepest hurts in a non-judgmental and brave space.

While attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I majored in both Human Development & Family Studies and Psychology, as I have always had a passion for and interest in understanding people and their individual lived experiences. Upon graduating in the middle of the pandemic, I felt incredibly scared and uncertain about my future and what I wanted to embark on next. This led me to committing to a year of service with AmeriCorps working as a Student Success Coach through City Year where I tutored and advocated for 5th graders from under resourced communities in the city of Chicago. My year of service was both challenging and rewarding, but most of all monumental in helping me discover my passion to help others, thus leading me to the University of Denver’s doctoral program in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) to further my education in the mental health field.

My approach to therapy is one of kindness, compassion, and warmth, fostering the importance of the relationship in the therapy room and how this relates to one’s experiences outside of the therapy room. I feel that therapy works best when it is collaborative, and I work to tailor the therapy experience to each person that comes through the door, understanding that each of us are different and have different needs. It is my hope that through this authentic connection, we can alleviate distress and suffering in your life by taking risks and exploring all the parts of yourself that make you “you.” It would be my utmost privilege to come together in this space and help you on your path toward growth, healing, and personal understanding.
